Who is it that's Bitter?

For around about three years now, Manchester City have been improving and growing. No matter which team you support this is a certainty. And yet, even now after the FA Cup victory, the Champion's League Qualification and the 6-1 dubbing of Manchester United at their own ground, people still can't accept it. Walk into any pub, workplace or school yard and you will hear at least one ignoramus red proudly telling his friends from Stretford, Salford and just about everywhere other than Manchester how "City are crap."

And oh the excuses that are given for just about everything which doesn't go their way. When confronted with the fact that City sit on the top of the league I was told the other day that "we haven't faced anyone decent yet." What about Spurs away, what about United away you may ask. Well according to these men of knowledge "these are only challenges on paper." I'm sorry but... what? Challenges on paper? If this was true then we may not face any challenges throughout the whole season as they are only "challenges on paper." When a team can't accept that their rivals have success then I simply don't can't accept them as fans.

I cannot tell a lie, I have made excuses for my team in the past, we all have whether it be that the referee was biased or that the manager got his team wrong. However, when a fanbase become so ignorant and arrogant and the excuses become so far fetched one must ask, who is it that's bitter?
